CELL TESTER

Spectra-Nova's CT Series Solar Cell Tester is a precision instrument capable of characterizing a diverse range of solar cell parameters, including cell conversion efficiency, complete light and dark I-V curves, Isc, Voc, Imax, Vmax, Pmax, FF, Rsh and Rs. The design, modular in nature, can be easily upgraded or options added at a later time.

This state-of-the-art system has been designed while keeping in mind the specific needs of the present day solar industry. Anyone performing in-depth solar cell technology development or experimental research will benefit from the flexibilty, accuracy and breadth of testing capabilities as required by or even exceeding IEC, ASTM and JIS standards.

These are a few of the system features:

  • precise measurement capabilities
  • flexible test configurations for a variety of solar cell technologies
  • multiple light source options
  • fully-automated (computer-controlled) test and calibration technology
  • networked (results, troubleshooting, etc.)
  • easy and affordable future upgrades
  • Class A simulation is standard. Class B simulation is available as an alternative to the more expensive Class A.

Technology:

CT Series Solar Cell Testers Class A and Class B are  based  on internationally recognized solar simulation technology using reliable single/multiple Xenon light pulses or continuous light (Xenon or Halogen). Air Mass 1.5G irradiation is the standard to which our equipment is calibrated. Other Air Masses can be simulated upon request.

Test Setup:

  • true four-probe contacting technique
  • temperature controlled chuck with vacuum hold
  • multiple pneumatically controlled contacting probes
  • real time irradiation uniformity test is optional
  • spectro-radiometer for spectral match assesment is optional
  • reliable and precise electronic load
  • high quality data acquisition equipment and electronic components ensure the precision, reliability and stability of the measurements.
The Measurement:
  • full I-V curve at a selected irradiation in the range of 700-1200 W/sqm (other ranges on request)
  • dark test in four quadrants is a standard feature
  • measurement at different operator selected temperatures
  • suitable for crystalline, thin film, dye-sensitized and organic solar cells.

Software:
  • high performance, user-friendly software
  • powerful curve-fit mathematical capabilities for dark test
  • on-line help screens greatly simplify operation of the machine.
